We visited the most important motorcycle show in Europe EICMA. The first impression of the show is that global competition is sharper than ever. We were surprised at how many Chinese and Taiwanese companies were present at the show, and how many new electric motorcycles were showed for the first time. Of course, we couldn’t help ourselves and checked beautiful hostesses.
We presented our industrial design services to smaller producers of motorcycles, helmets and other accessories.
Design is not an advantage of West manufacturers; only it became also more and more critical selling proposition of influential global producers from the East. Sym, a motorcycle manufacturer from Taiwan, presented concept Maxsym 500 which was one of the most advanced designed motorcycles with sharp edges at the show. Maybe it is not so revolutionary in shape, but it is one of the most detailed designed motorcycles. There were many exciting new concepts showed, and many of them were electric. Most dominant manufacturers still propel their motorcycles with gas engines, but it is everywhere evident that electric motorcycles are on the rise.
