Project year: 2022
Design: Andrej Kregar, Tamara Likon
Client: Medicop
Medicop is an internationally renowned company in the field of development and production of medical equipment and ambulance vehicles. Providing exceptional solutions that save lives, the company’s products are recognized as very high-quality and trustworthy, so it is not surprising that they are located in hospitals and health centers in 60 countries all over the world.
As per client’s request, we designed medical devices for air therapies. However, this is a portable respirator with a fresh new design, for which inspiration we drew from the international space station (ISS). The unusual resemblance between the medical device and the space station reflects the profile and quality of the product, which is similar to a spacecraft and strives to reach perfection and pure functional design. Namely, the main task of a portable respirator is the airflow, so as the basis for the creation, our designers took a hermetically sealed yet aesthetically perfect object.
We designed numerous microelements, such as a manometer, an inlet connection, an ejector, a vacuum regulator, a measuring tube, et al., into an integral whole, which reflects characteristics of an upgradable ISS. Airtightness, minimalism, and efficiency are the terms that best describe the new series of respirators or suction medical devices for various purposes. At Medicop, quality has never been in question, but with this new design, the company has definitely added a new dimension to its products.
